Jazz Piano II

Ideal Age Range: 10 and Above
During these sessions, students will receive the following:
-An insightful overview of each style covered, including history and development, music theory, and current significant performers and songs/pieces.
-An in-depth study of all the building blocks and techniques in each style, including chords and harmony, patterns, improvisation, rhythm, and functional roles within an ensemble.
-A practical application of stylistic techniques to actual songs or pieces within that genre, including how to read a lead sheet or chord sheet and how to interpret songs as a solo pianist or as a member of an ensemble.
-A set of materials to take home, including a notebook with handouts, chord sheets for songs, and audio files from the material covered in the clinic.
