Daniel Joiner

 

Daniel Joiner is a professional musician in the Tampa Bay area. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Piano Performance from Stetson University and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies from The University of South Florida. He is currently an adjunct faculty member at Southeastern University and St. Petersburg College where he teaches private lessons, Jazz Combo, and Class Piano. As a performer, his style has been greatly influenced by pianists such as Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Michel Camilo, Chucho Valdez, Frederick Chopin, Bill Wolaver, and Mark Hayes. He has performed at various public venues in Tampa including Busch Gardens, the Tampa Bay Times Forum, Benedetto's Italiano, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, The Rusty Pelican, and Mitchell’s Fish Market as well as for many private events. He served as the Sunday morning pianist for Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, FL from 2010-2020. He has done musical missions and outreach work in Cuba, New Orleans, New York, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. In 2008 and 2010, he served with Camp Kirkland in Russia on jazz big band missions trips. In his career, he has recorded three albums: the 2007 jazz trio release entitled “The Daniel Joiner Trio: A Different Standard,” the Fall 2012 solo piano release entitled “Hymn Conceptions,” and the December 2014 release entitled "Joy at Christmas Time."
